This program was designed to meet the needs of parents with children 2 years of age and older. 

The objective of this program is to help parents build healthy lifelong relationships with their children.

The interactive parenting and life skills sessions help parents build skills, challenge old habits and develop new ways of coping.

The program consists of group support/training sessions and weekly in home visits from a family support worker.

PARENTING SKILLS PERSONAL LIFE SKILLS
Ages and Stages of Development Family Systems
Styles of Parenting Stress Management
Understanding Child Behavior Boundaries
Encouragement & Praise Communication
Positive Discipline Anger Management
Solving Problems Conflict Resolution
Family Meetings Assertiveness

GROUP SUPPORT  provided in a non-threatening home-like atmosphere, as you meet and identify with other parents experiencing common issues.

TRAINING SESSIONS that provide parents with the opportunity to acquire knowledge and learn new strategies in the areas of parenting and lifeskills.

IN-HOME COACHING/SUPPORT that provides parents with individual coaching as they practice the skills learned in group sessions. This is also an opportunity for parents to receive one-on-one support as they focus on personal goal achievement.

REFERRALS:
One can become involved by referring yourself or referral from, a community agency, Public Health, or the Ministry of Children and Family Development. Referral can be mailed, faxed or phoned in to our office.

LENGTH OF PROGRAM:      10 weeks

PROGRAM  DAY:  Tuesday & Thursday from 9:00am to 12:00pm
